What to Anticipate for 2008
Each year the Rotary Burlington Music Festival
board reviews its practices to see how we can improve our festival
for our participants, parents and teachers. As a member of the Ontario
Music Festival Association, our festival routinely connects with
other festivals to share knowledge and experience. It is important
to us to provide the very best festival we can. We consider all
changes carefully, taking into account feedback we receive from
you, our participants. Please take some time to read over the exciting
changes we have made for the 2008 Rotary Burlington Music Festival.
- Accompanists must show the original copy of their music to the secretary on duty.
- CD accompaniment is permitted in certain classes: PC-21 and VC-27. Live accompaniment is required for all other classes (instrumental and vocal).
- The Bach Prelude and Fugue class for piano (PC-06) has been subdivided into grade 10 and Associate levels.
- Piano Duos have been expanded to include 2 piano/8 hands! This is sure to be an exciting class!
- We've added a whole new Contemporary section to our piano classes. Please check out PC-20!
- In voice, we've added a new Pop/Jazz class ... look for VC-27!
- We've changed our Composition classes a bit to encourage more budding composers to submit their work. Please see MC-01 and MC-02.
- The support from our wonderful teachers year after year does not go unnoticed. Please take your student schedule which you receive in October to any registration desk during festival weeks, and receive your free programme.
