new for 2011

Each year the Rotary Burlington Music Festival Board reviews its practices to see how we can improve our festival for our participants, parents, and teachers. As a member of the Ontario Music Festival Association, our festival routinely connects with other festivals to share knowledge and experience. It is important to us to provide the very best festival we can. We consider all changes carefully, taking into account feedback we receive from you, our participants. Please take some time to read over the exciting changes we have made for the 2011 Rotary Burlington Music Festival.

The SYLLABUS FORMAT is all new with updated programming and editing features.

ONLINE REGISTRATION has been revised to let you 'shop a la carte'.  Look up the class(es) for which you want to register, then click the shopping cart to add one or multiple classes.

To be eligible for an individual scholarship in piano, voice, music theatre, strings, speech, winds, or guitar, participants must enter and compete in a minimum of three classes in the same discipline.  One of the three classes must be a Canadian class.  The Canadian Classes have been divided into two categories this year - one for classical Canadian selections and the other for Canadian Pop, Rock, & Jazz.  Voice performers can satisfy the Canadian content by singing in either the Art Song or the Music Theatre classes.
